For over a decade Prof. Dr. Marcus Niemietz has been working as a penetration tester and web security trainer.

As a co-founder of Hackmanit he has been responsible for web security since 2014. In addition, he is conducting research at the Clavis Institute for Information Security at Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in the field of web security. He is a regular speaker at numerous international IT security conferences, including the USENIX Security, Black Hat (YouTube) and Microsoft‘s renowned hacker conference BlueHat. Marcus Niemietz is the publishing author of a book in the field of web security.

Christian Mainka is an IT security professor at the University of Wuppertal and previously completed his doctorate on the topics of web services and single sign-on.

He is co-founder of Hackmanit and has been working on web and data security issues since 2009. He has been a researcher at the University of Wuppertal since 2025 and heads the chair “Robust, Secure and Privacy-Preserving Smart Systems”. His globally recognized expertise covers a wide range of practical cybersecurity topics such as web and browser security, identity and access management and the security of digital documents. Prof. Dr. Juraj Somorovsky has been Professor of System Security at Paderborn University since February 2020. He previously completed his doctorate at Ruhr University Bochum in the field of XML security.

He is one of the leading developers of the TLS-Attacker analysis tool and is co-author of numerous influential attacks on the TLS protocol - including DROWN and ROBOT, both of which won the prestigious Pwnie Award for the best cryptographic attack. At the University of Paderborn, he heads the System Security Group and conducts research on applied cryptography, Internet censorship, and web, network and system security. In addition to his academic activities, he works as a freelance security expert and penetration tester.

Since September 2003, Prof. Dr. Jörg Schwenk is the owner of the Chair for Network and Data Security at the Ruhr University Bochum. The chair belongs to the renowned Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security.

Professor Schwenk is an internationally recognized expert in the areas of cryptography and IT security. After completing his doctorate in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Giessen he moved in 1993 to Darmstadt, where he worked at the Telekom Technology center for applied research in the field of IT security Professor Schwenk is an author of numerous international publications in renowned conferences (for example Eurocrypt, Asiacrypt or Communications and Multimedia Security), author of textbooks on cryptography and Internet security, and about 60 patents in the field of IT security.

Karsten Meyer zu Selhausen has many years of experience in the fields of secure deployment and secure use of single sign-on procedures, such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, and SAML.

He has worked as a senior IT security consultant, penetration tester, and trainer for Hackmanit since 2016. During his master's degree in IT Security at the Ruhr University Bochum, he specialized in the security of different protocols for delegated authorization and authentication, as well as data description languages, such as XML and PDF. He gained his profound expertise in the secure use of the single sign-on procedures, such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, and SAML, during numerous consulting projects and penetration tests. In addition, he shares his knowledge and experience in security training courses.

Conrad Schmidt

Conrad Schmidt has been working in the field of IT security for several years as a developer and penetration tester and therefore has expertise in both the creation and testing of web applications and infrastructure.

He has been working as an IT security developer and penetration tester at Hackmanit since 2023, developing security tools for use in testing, among other things. In his master's degree in IT Security at the Ruhr-University Bochum, he specialized in web security as well as network and transmission protocols such as TLS and DTLS. His experience in software development using Java, Python, C# and JavaScript helps him to write and test security-relevant software. At Hackmanit, he is working on the TLS testing tool "TLS-Anvil", which is being developed as part of the KoTeBi project.

Jacqueline Hintze has been working in the media and design industry for over a decade, proving her expertise in numerous advertising campaigns and projects for renowned companies.

Since 2019 she has been working as a communication designer for Hackmanit. As Art Director she is responsible for corporate identity and marketing strategy. After her successful graduation as a media designer and working several years for an advertising agency based in one of Germany’s major media cities, Düsseldorf, she decided to study communication design at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. During her studies she was nominated and placed in various competitions. Alongside her studies, she began to collect further experience as a freelance graphic designer. By the time she received her bachelor's degree in 2018, she already had many years of professional experience from various projects. Among other things, she has created advertising and marketing campaigns for a number of notable brands that have been used both nationally and internationally.
