Our Philosophy
The rare mineral hackmanite, named after the Finnish mineralogist Victor Axel Hackman, is famous for its tenebrescence—the unique ability to change color under UV light.

History and Core Competencies

Hackmanit GmbH was founded by four IT security experts who met at Ruhr University Bochum during their academic careers. There, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jörg Schwenk, they conducted research on key IT security topics. After completing their doctorates, they took on teaching positions and further developed their areas of expertise—always with a clear focus on practical security solutions.
Hackmanit was founded to combine excellent research with responsible corporate practice. Our focus is on web security, single sign-on, and applied cryptography.
Today, we are one of the leading specialists in the security analysis of complex systems—from web applications to identity management and cryptographic protocols. Our close connection to academic research enables us to offer you state-of-the-art solutions—scientifically sound, field-tested, and customized to your requirements.
